In conjunction with Vulture Scouts, both Explorers and Scouts held a family firework in the grounds of Elphwood. Food and hot drinks were available. Each young person who attended had a adult guardian with them, as the lead volunteers were busy seeing to other tasks. This led to a safe and successful event.
Our Scout Troop took part in the District Hight Hike, which took place between Fyfield and Skreens Park activity centre near Chelmsford. We shared second place in the competition, which involved various bases along the route, where teams were set challenges to completed gain additional points. In teams, youngsters walked a pre-set route across fields and along public paths. The hike finished at Skreens Park, where tents had been erected earlier in daylight, where the young people could sleep for a few hours.
